Email Notifications Not Getting To Your Email Inbox?
Early Dismissals / Cancellations / Late Starts
It is that time of the year to start thinking about preparations for possible inclement weather. The Mason City Community School District currently provides an automated notification service. This notification provides families with automated phone calls, emails and text messages for notifications from the school district when school is being cancelled, dismissing early or having a late start. These notifications are sent to the numbers and email addresses parents have provided to the school district through PowerSchool (the student management software). If at any time you would like to update your preferences, parents may do so by logging into PowerSchool.
These notifications are also provided to local radio stations and television stations KIMT, KTTC and KAAL and are typically found on their websites and are broadcast on their stations.
These announcements can also be found on the district's website (www.masoncityschools.org) and social media pages (www.facebook.com/MasonCityCSD/ or Mason City Community School District) (and on Twitter @MasonCityMCSD).
For any additional questions about school cancellations/early dismissals/late starts, contact the Administrative Offices at 641-421-4401.
School Notification System Sign Up
The Mason City Community School District offers alerts through a school notification system to help keep in communication regarding school closures/dismissals/late starts and other important information. Parents can sign up through PowerSchool to receive automatic phone, email or text message notifications by signing into their student’s PowerSchool account and setting their Student Preferences. There are several categories available for announcement types and parents may select their preferences for each category. If you should have any questions or problems with setting your preferences, please contact your student's building office.
