Summer Feeding Program  - Mason City Community School District is participating in the Summer Food Service Program.  Meals will be provided to all children and teens ages 1-18 without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of meal service.  No registration or identification is required.  Meals will be provided, at a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times on the links provided:

Mason City YMCA - June 5-August 25, 2017

Roosevelt Elementary - June 19-June 30, 2017

District Wellness Policy and Committee - This committee membership includes Board of Education members, administrators, school nurse, Director of Nutrition Services, certified staff, classified staff and the Community Program Manager-Mason City Blue Zones Project. Committee duties include annually assessing the school's existing nutrition and physical activity environments and policies to help review compliance, assess progress and determine areas of need of improvement.

Meal Charges Policy - to meet the requirements as dictated in USDA Memo 46-2016 the Mason City Community School District Board of Education has implemented a policy for handling situations where children, eligible to received reduced price or paid meals, do not have money in their accout or in hand to cover the cost of their meal at the time of service.
